In September 2024 we launched a new community and creative health network for Blackpool named ‘Making Waves: Blackpool’s Community and Creative Health Network’. We will be holding regular community meetings to share good practice from community organisations working in our priority areas, connect key partners, and shape the work of the Coastal Community & Creative Health project together.

Coming to these network meetings will help you raise awareness of the great work you and your colleagues do in Blackpool, join in important discussions about mental health inequalities and supporting the wellbeing of residents in Blackpool, make new connections, and get involved in our work! We will explore what we have achieved so far and our plans for the next three years to reduce health inequities in Blackpool. We will be focussing on mental health in three priority areas:

  • young people’s mental health and wellbeing
  • drug and alcohol (substance) use
  • serious illness and bereavement

Come along to meet new and existing collaborators across sectors working in these priority areas. Share ideas and discuss challenges and solutions.
